What is a Fire Risk Assessment?

In short, a Fire Risk Assessment is a careful look at your premises and the people who use them, from a fire prevention perspective. It’s about understanding the potential risks and then improving your fire safety precautions to keep people safe.

In the UK, you are considered a "Responsible Person" with regard to fire safety if you have control of non-domestic premises, for example, as a landlord or business owner. A part of that responsibility is to ensure a suitably competent person carries out and regularly reviews a Fire Risk Assessment.
